CBER's research team is happy to introduce Manon Geraudin, 5th year student of civil engineering and urban planning at INSA (Institute National des Sciences Appliquees) Lyon, in France. She joined us at the end of October 2019 and will stay till the second half of March 2020. Her research expertise in Building and high environmental quality make her a prefect fit for our team.

“Modeling and data infrastructure for human-centric design and operation of sustainable, healthy buildings through a case study,” a paper coauthored by Ulrike Passe, associate professor of architecture and director of the Center for Building Energy Research, has been published in the international journal Building and Environment, Volume 170, March 2020.

Time for Action! At an Iowa news conference, Ulrike Passe, associate professor and director of the Center for Building Energy Research at ISU and Jerry Schnoor, co-director of the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research at the University of Iowa, met on Thursday to discuss climate change issues and building design.

We have had a research presentation tour for the Mobile Diagnostic Lab! The MDL was presented at the Research in the Capitol (RIC), National Celebration for Undergraduate Research (NCUR), and ISU Undergraduate Research Symposium.

As three of our members begin to prepare for graduation this May and December, CBER welcomes two new students: Rodcely Muro Garrido, Junior in Architecture; and Rob Agnes, Sophomore in Architecture.

The Mobile Diagnostic Lab (MDL) was completed by the end of August 2017. Interior finishes have been installed and new research is under development by Graduate Student Glenn Veigas and Prof. Behrouz Shafei by the end of the semester.

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Inc. (GACC Midwest) will host Energy Efficiency Innovation Seminars on Smart Buildings at four Midwestern universities: Iowa State, Illinois State, Michigan State and Northwestern.
This will be held on October 23 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm in Design 416 at Iowa State University.
