CBER to Track Performance of Reassembled Interlock House

Author: nicolerh

The Interlock House has been reassembled at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Honey Creek Resort State Park for use as a nature interpretive center and staff offices. The solar-powered house was Iowa State University’s entry into the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s Solar Decathlon in 2009. Researchers from CBER will track the building’s performance in Iowa’s climate. “This is a unique opportunity for real-time, long-term building performance evaluation of a net-zero energy building in Iowa,” says Ulrike Passe, CBER director.
